Meet Joy Joy Jacobs was excited about her role as Director of Care Ministries at Daybreak Church in Mechanicsburg, PA! Her work with Shepherds Touch Counseling Ministries provided a plethora of topics for WJTL-FMs The Counselors Notebook, which she co-hosted with Dr. Jim Johnson. Ever since her first devotionals on Biblical women, They Were Women, Too and They Were Women Like Me, followed by a devotional on Biblical couples, One I Love, Joy had been a popular speaker at womens retreats and events, churches, seminaries, and colleges. When God Seems Far Away, a study of the Hebrew names of God, arose out of Joys search for renewed meaning in life after her mothers struggle with cancer. Writing support group material for sexually abused women at Bethesda Mission (Harrisburg, PA) served as valuable preparation for Single, Whole & Holy: Christian Women & Sexuality, co-authored with Deb Strubel. Joy was married to Bob for over 40 years; together they had three sons, all in ministry, and eight grandchildren. A Personal Note from Joy (before her passing):
